Investors in People

'Investors in People' (IiP) is a national standard that links the training and on-going development of our staff to our business success as a nursery. We first achieved the IiP standard in 1999 and were the first nursery business in North Yorkshire to do so. Since then we have been reviewed every three years and have very proudly continued to achieve the status.

After our most recent assessment in the summer of 2011, a report was published which can be obtained from your nursery manager should you wish to read it in full. We have collated some of the feedback from the assessor below based on his interviews with staff from all four of the nurseries:

The team culture is excellent, and people regard it as a great place work, and have a sense of commitment and pride in what they do. This is indicative of the very good leadership and management at all levels, in including people, giving people responsibility and opportunity, which is helping people in learning their roles, is helping the team to work together, and share learning, and having managers who are team players as well. People feel valued for their work and achievements by management, with several who are regarded as role models. There is a learning culture with a range of innovative methods to help people learn and develop, and progress including on the job training and coaching which is strong from induction onwards. There is a real drive and commitment to improve and develop, to provide quality care, play and education and to provide a high standard of learning and development for staff and children.
